Stones and Crosses of the North York Moors: An illustrated exploration of some of the most noteworthy stone crosses, standing stones and monuments within the North York Moors National Park, covering the landscape setting, history and legends surrounding them. The Cleveland Way - North Yorkshires National Trail: Walking the Cleveland Way, from Helmsley to Filey in North Yorkshire, looking at the landscape and history along the way. Accompanied by images taken while I was completing this 109 miles long National Trail. Coast to Coast Along Hadrian's Wall This talk follows my journey along the 84-mile Hadrians Wall Path, walking from Wallsend on the River Tyne to Bowness-on-Solway. Along the way, I explore the most impressive surviving stretches of the Wall, milecastles, and turrets, and reflect on the experience of travelling through some of Britains most dramatic landscapes. From bustling Tyneside through rolling Northumberland hills to the wide Solway estuary, the route reveals both the endurance of Roman engineering and the beauty of the frontier it once guarded. ![]() |
