Subjects:Andrew Edwards spent 34 years as a BBC radio journalist and broadcaster, 30 of them as a presenter at BBC Radio Leeds broadcasting to West Yorkshire, after starting his career on the Hull Daily Mail. He won numerous awards in a career which saw him present breakfast shows from New York, Durban in South Africa and Valencia when Leeds United were going after European glory! He's interviewed prime ministers, covered the deaths of Diana the Princess of Wales and the Queen Mother and made a documentary about the music hall with John Major. He also recorded the moving "Mum and Me: The Dementia Diary" about the joys and sadnesses of looking after his late Mum, for which he was named a Dementia Hero by the Alzheimer's Society. He's presented Songs of Praise, hosted national election programmes and is a regular warm-up for BBC Radio 4 'Any Questions'.

Talks can be illustrated with pictures and audio if desired. I have personal links to North, South, East and West Yorkshire; I was born and brought up in Hull and have lived in Leeds since 1993

NB: I also offer a talk on "Mum and Me: The Dementia Diary" as mentioned above. It focusses on my personal experiences of looking after my Mum, from the perspective of an ordinary son not a broadcaster. It too can be illustrated with pictures and audio if desired.
